SCCM 2012 R2 upgrade to SP1

To upgrade SCCM 2012 R2 to SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 you do not download the SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 installer (SC2012_R2_SP1_Configmgr.exe), you will need to download the SCCM 2012 SP2 installer.

–WHAT!?–

Yes, I stated that correctly.

The correct installer is: SC2012_SP2_Configmgr_SCEP.exe   (which is significantly bigger)

Jason Sandys (SCCM expert) covers this is much detail here: http://blog.configmgrftw.com/service-pack-madness/

Here is a simple chart he made that helps tremendously!
